Department Overview
The Department of Public Works (DPW) strives to provide a high level of service to the Village of Dundee residents. The department is responsible for a wide range of activities and services and maintains the following city property:
- Fleet vehicles
- Floral displays
- Parks and grounds
- Signs
- Streets
- Traffic signals
- Trees
- Village-owned buildings
- Village-owned parking lots

- Crosswalk maintenance
- Paving
- Pothole repair
- Snow removal and salting
- Street lighting
- Street sweeping
- Yard waste collection
- Tree trimming within the road right-of-way
Renaming Village Streets
The renaming of Village Streets has far reaching effects on public safety and shall only be done in extraordinary circumstances. The following procedures shall be followed to identify and address any problems that a street name change may produce prior to any recommendation to the Village Council to adopt a requested street name change.
